Opportunity

How Do You Build a Procurement Function That Grows with the Business?

Growth creates opportunity.

It also creates complexity.

As ILIAS continues to grow across multiple countries and legal entities, procurement is evolving from purchasing into a strategic business capability. New suppliers, technologies and partnerships require consistent governance, sound commercial judgement and effective collaboration across the organisation.

This is where you come in.

You will not inherit a mature procurement function. You will help build one.

As ILIAS' central procurement partner and central point of contact for purchasing, you will coordinate procurement activities across six legal entities, bringing together business needs, supplier relationships and purchasing decisions into one consistent approach.

Working closely with Finance, ICT, Facility, Legal & Compliance, Quality and Operations, you will help establish procurement as a capability that supports sustainable growth and better business decisions across the organisation.

Meaningful Work in a Mission Driven Environment

Build the Foundation Behind Mission Readiness

Mission readiness starts long before operations begin.

Reliable suppliers create continuity.

Trusted technology enables performance.

Strong commercial partnerships strengthen Mission Readiness.

ILIAS helps defence organisations strengthen Mission Readiness through its Defence Operational System (DOS), connecting maintenance, logistics, operational assets and workforce readiness into one integrated operational picture.

Behind every operational capability stands a network of trusted suppliers, technologies and commercial partnerships. By strengthening procurement, you help create that foundation and enable colleagues to deliver trusted solutions to defence organisations around the world.

Your Mission

Create Consistency Across Procurement

Your challenge is to create one consistent procurement approach that strengthens governance, supports sustainable growth and enables better business decisions across the organisation.
You will:
  • Act as ILIAS' central procurement partner across six legal entities.
  • Own the end to end purchasing process, including operational purchasing, purchase order management and the coordination of procurement activities.
  • Develop and implement a consistent procurement approach across the organisation.
  • Operationalise and continuously improve the Purchase to Pay (P2P) framework and procurement governance.
  • Lead supplier selection, RFQ and tender processes.
  • Manage procurement activities for software, hardware, SaaS solutions, ICT services, facility services and professional services.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and contract management together with Legal & Compliance.
  • Build trusted supplier relationships and further develop vendor management practices.
  • Improve procurement reporting, spend visibility and procurement processes.
  • Advise stakeholders on procurement decisions that balance commercial value, governance and long term organisational goals.
Every improvement you introduce helps strengthen procurement as a trusted business capability and prepares ILIAS for its next stage of growth.

What You Bring

Procurement That Creates Long Term Value

Strong procurement starts with understanding the business behind every purchasing decision.
Success comes from combining commercial judgement with governance, building trusted supplier relationships and creating long term value across the organisation.
To support this, you bring:
  • Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing or vendor management.
  • Experience with commercial negotiations and contract management.
  • Experience managing operational purchasing activities and purchase order processes.
  • Experience procuring software, hardware, SaaS solutions, ICT services or professional services.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate information into well founded business decisions.
  • Experience working with ERP systems. Experience with NetSuite is an advantage.
  • Professional communication skills in Dutch and English.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree, or an equivalent level of professional experience.
Experience working within a regulated or defence environment is considered an advantage.
Professional qualifications such as NEVI, CIPS or equivalent certifications are also considered an advantage.

Build Your Future with ILIAS

Help Shape a Function That Will Continue to Grow

The procurement function you help build today will continue to evolve as ILIAS grows.
As part of the Patria Group, one of Finland's leading defence and technology organisations, ILIAS combines the agility of a specialised software company with the scale, stability and international reach of an international defence group.

A role with this level of responsibility deserves a package that reflects its impact. You will receive a salary aligned with the scope of the role, complemented by an annual bonus, a company car where applicable and the standard Belgian extra legal employment benefits.

Perhaps the most important question is not how many suppliers you have managed or how many contracts you have negotiated.

It is whether you want to help build the procurement function that will support ILIAS as it continues to grow.

About us

In defence operations, timing and reliable information shape every decision. Many organizations still rely on fragmented systems, limiting visibility and slowing execution. ILIAS Solutions connects logistics, maintenance, and operations into one integrated platform. This creates a single source of truth and enables teams to act on real time data across strategic, operational, and tactical levels. Large volumes of operational data move continuously between systems. This data reflects maintenance cycles, logistics flows, and asset readiness. Accuracy and consistency directly impact operational outcomes.
